What is the best way to travel?

Norway seems far away to many people, but it's not! That's why we're sharing some tips on this page for your trip to our beautiful Lake Lodges in Vrådal.

Travelling from Great Britain

  • From the UK, the best option is to fly to Oslo and rent a car there. From Oslo, it's a three-hour drive to Vrådal.
  • If you're traveling with your own car, the best option is to take the Eurotunnel to mainland Europe and from there drive to Hirsthals in Denmark, where you can take the ferry to Kristiansand. The ferry trip takes four hours, and from there, it's a 2.5-hour drive to Vrådal.

Traveling from the Netherlands

There are several ways to travel to Vrådal from the Netherlands: 

  • If you want to bring your own car, the best option is to drive to Hirsthals in Denmark. This takes about 9 hours. From Hirsthals, take the ferry to Kristiansand. The boat trip takes 4 hours, after which it's a 2.5-hour drive to Vrådal.
  • You can also fly from Schiphol to Kristiansand (about 1 hour) and rent a car there. From Kristiansand, it's another 2.5-hour drive to Vrådal.
  • Want to turn your trip into a holiday? Then you can drive to Copenhagen on day 1 and stay overnight there. On day 2, drive via Malmö, Gothenburg, and Oslo to Vrådal.
  • Starting in 2027, the ferry from Eemshaven to Kristiansand will also sail. You can depart in the afternoon, relax, spend the night on the ferry, and arrive well-rested the next morning. From Kristiansand it is another 2.5 hours drive to Vrådal.

From Denmark, the best way is to drive to Hirsthals in Denmark. From Hirsthals, take the ferry to Kristiansand. The ferry trip takes 4 hours, and then it's a 2.5-hour drive to Vrådal.

  • From Sweden, the best way to get to Vrådal is via Oslo.
